Is the uk actually declining as a country ?

I've been paying more attention to it recently as I'm old enough now and definitely notice the prices of general things and housing being a bit ridiculous toh. But isn't it like this nearly everywhere? It does seem the world as a whole looks down a bit on the uk nowadays but in terms of it serving the average person is it going to be increasingly difficult to afford to live here? I grew up here and I do actually really like the uk but even I've noticed things shift too much financially and heck even the whether has shifted lol. It does feel like the country was better even 10 yrs back. I'm more worried about never being able to afford to move out or find a good stable job tbh
