What can an interview tell you about how the team actually works?

An interview is a carefully arranged conversation, so it will never show every part of a workplace. Still, the way people explain a role, handle questions, and discuss colleagues can provide useful clues. Broad promises about a great culture are harder to judge than a concrete example of how a busy week is managed. Which questions have helped you understand the everyday job? Asking about support, turnover, priorities, and how mistakes are handled might reveal more than a list of perks. One awkward moment alone probably deserves context rather than an instant verdict.

Ask what a difficult recent week looked like and how the team handled it. A concrete example is easier to understand than a slogan about teamwork.
