A job description asking one person to do five different jobs

Some job adverts describe a role so broadly that it is difficult to picture an ordinary working day. Strategy, customer support, administration, sales, and several specialist tools all appear in the same list. A small team may genuinely need someone flexible, but flexibility still needs priorities and realistic expectations. Which questions reveal what the work actually involves? Asking what takes most of the week, what support exists, and how success is judged seems more useful than trying to match every bullet point. A clear answer could prevent a difficult surprise after joining.

Ask which responsibilities matter most in the first three months. A ranked answer is much easier to assess than being told everything is important.
