Which tiny evening task makes the next morning easier?

Morning advice often starts by adding more things to the morning. That may not help when the real problem is hunting for keys, discovering an empty lunch container, or remembering a form just as everyone needs to leave. A few minutes at the right time could matter more than an ambitious routine.

What small task is worth doing the night before? Looking for ideas that take little energy and actually survive a busy week. Please include what tends to derail the habit too. A useful suggestion should still make sense on an ordinary tired evening, not only on a wonderfully organized Sunday.

Putting necessary items in one visible place could remove several small searches. The best location may be the one already used while leaving.

A habit that takes two minutes may be easier to keep than a full reset. It is fine for an evening routine to stay small.

Charging devices where they will be picked up can remove one morning decision. It also helps when several people share a limited number of chargers.
