Should replacement parts be listed on the product page from the start?

A broken lid or missing attachment can make an otherwise useful product difficult to keep using. Finding out whether a small part is available often requires a separate search through support pages. It would be easier to know before buying what can be replaced, how the part is identified and whether instructions are available. Which products would benefit most from that information? This discussion is about clear product documentation and availability, rather than attempting repairs that require specialist knowledge or taking apart electrical equipment.

A labelled diagram could make a replacement part much easier to identify. Product names alone are not always specific enough to match the version.
