A delivery update matters. A reminder to browse usually does not.

Many apps ask for notifications before there is any reason to trust them with that attention. Later, useful alerts sit beside sale announcements, daily reminders, and messages about features nobody requested. Turning everything off creates a different problem when an important update gets missed. Which alerts actually earn a place on your lock screen? Sorting by purpose seems more useful than deciding that an entire app is good or bad. There may be a way to keep delivery changes, payment warnings, and real messages while letting the rest stay quietly inside the app.

Notification settings sometimes offer separate categories. It is worth checking whether promotional alerts can be disabled while useful service updates remain available.

Looking at which alerts you dismissed all week is a practical starting point. Repeatedly ignoring the same reminder usually says something about its usefulness.

Leaving badges enabled can create a different kind of distraction even after sounds stop. Review the visual reminders as well as the noisy ones.
