Sharing family photos without putting them everywhere

Sending a family photo to a few relatives can quickly turn into the same picture appearing in several chats and public profiles. The person taking the photo may be happy to share it privately without agreeing to a wider audience. This gets especially awkward when children or people who dislike social media are in the picture. How do families agree on a boundary that is clear and realistic? A shared album sounds convenient, but the conversation about who can forward or repost pictures probably matters more than which service holds them.

A direct request such as please keep this in the family chat is easier to follow than hoping everyone has the same idea of private.

Asking before posting someone else's photo is a small habit that avoids a lot of awkward cleanup. It also gives them a chance to choose another picture.

Separate consent for taking a picture from consent for sharing it. Someone can enjoy being in a family photo without wanting it on a public profile.
